Tenerife used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Trieste 84-82 on Wednesday night. Tenerife made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Uruguayan point guard Bruno Fitipaldo (183-1991) notched 17 points and 4 assists to lead the effort and Brazilian-Italian point guard Marcelinho Huertas (191-1983) supported him with 12 points and 8 assists. Tenerife's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists by American Markel Brown (193-1992, college: OK State) did not help to save the game for Trieste . Mexican-American Juan Toscano-Anderson (198-1993, college: Marquette) added 14 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
